An image generator that can also edit an existing picture when you tell it what to change in plain words.

A diffusion-based text-to-image and instruction-guided editing model; region edits are re-rendered rather than pasted, which defeats splicing- and copy-move-oriented forgery detectors.
Also called: FLUX
Why it matters: It offers a strong image-generation reference so a new model's picture-prediction quality can be measured against a well-regarded system.
For example, researchers can ask FLUX.2 and a new model to each generate the likely next frame of a scene and compare how realistic the results look.
