Token Signature

Definition

Plain language

A simpler predecessor to EDRM that decides reasoning routing from a single trend metric.

As stated in the literature

A prior chain-of-thought routing method using a single early-decoding entropy trend statistic, generalized by EDRM into a three-descriptor framework.

Why it matters: It provides a lightweight baseline for deciding when extra reasoning is worth the compute, which more recent methods build on with richer signals.

For example, Token Signature might route a problem to extended reasoning purely based on whether the model's early-token uncertainty is trending upward.
