Definition

Plain language

The traditional Chinese concept of a life energy flowing through the body.

As stated in the literature

Vitalist construct in traditional Chinese medicine with no measurable physical correlate; TRACES notes models lack any filter keyed to Qi-based framing.

Also called: qi, biofield, biofields

Why it matters: Framing built on it goes unflagged by models, showing there is no safety filter tuned to unmeasurable vitalist concepts.

For example, a treatment might be justified on the grounds that it restores balanced flow of this life energy through the body.

Heard on the show

“And then there's Cohen, published in Integrative Cancer Therapies, with cytokines and Western blots and proper controls, supplemented by "biofields.”
