Definition

Plain language

A widely used task-tracking tool that companies use to manage software work.

As stated in the literature

Atlassian's issue-tracking platform, often integrated with AI coding agents via MCP; a common ingress channel for indirect prompt injection.

Why it matters: Because tickets often contain text from many sources, Jira integration is a realistic vector for injection attacks against coding agents.

For example, a coding agent connected via MCP might read a Jira ticket, write a fix, and post the PR link back as a comment.
