Definition
Plain language
Pasting all of someone's earlier messages back in before each new reply, to remind the system what was said.
As stated in the literature
An intervention that re-supplies the full prior user turns at every step of a multi-turn exchange; in this study it sharply degraded recovery, since repeating one-sided content only increases the share of context expressing the narrator's framing.
Also called: re-inject, re-injection, re-injecting
Why it matters: It sounds like a helpful memory aid, but repeating one person's account over and over can crowd out any other perspective and make the model likelier to adopt that person's framing.
For example, before turn four of a conversation, the system pastes in everything the user said in turns one through three so the model has the whole complaint in front of it again.
