In poker, the overall character of the shared community cards — whether they connect into likely straights and flushes or are scattered and safe.
As stated in the literature
The structural features of the community cards (connectedness, suitedness, pairing) that determine which hand ranges are favored; one of the situational facts PokerSkill's deterministic context engine computes to retrieve the relevant strategy fragment.
Why it matters: Reading board texture is what tells a poker player which bets are safe and which hands their opponent might plausibly hold.
For example, a flop of three hearts in sequence has a dangerous board texture because it makes both flushes and straights easy to complete.
