Prosody analysis is the study of the suprasegmental features of speech — pitch, intensity, rhythm, and timing — that convey meaning beyond the literal words spoken. In machine learning research it is used to decompose audio signals into these component features so researchers can trace model errors or successes back to specific acoustic cues, revealing which aspects of vocal delivery a system is actually attending to.
